The award, presented by the Young Women’s Alliance and the Young Men’s Business League, honors an established Austin business and/or community leader who has dedicated their time to mentoring the emerging young leaders. The Austin Under 40 Awards recognize individuals in 15 categories including Entrepreneurship & Start-up, Community Service & Non-Profit and Mentor of the Year. The AU40 Nominations Committee has selected 75 finalists for its 2016 awards. The 18th Austin Under 40 Awards Ceremony and Gala will be held on April 16, 2016 at JW Marriott Austin.

Since 1998, the Young Women’s Alliance (YWA) and Young Men’s Business League (YMBL) have partnered to host Austin’s premier charity gala honoring young professionals, the Austin Under 40 Awards. During an evening of prestige and celebration, Austinites are recognized for leadership in their respective industries and strong commitments to serving the Austin community. All proceeds from the event benefit the the YWA Foundation, which provides scholarships to young women and grants to women-focused nonprofits, such as Dress for Success, and the YMBL Austin Sunshine Camps, which work to engage and empower children through education and outdoor experiences.
